So who is Betty anyways?
Well... first off...
My name is actually Jessica!!
Betty was a nickname from high school and the dairy free part comes from my dairy free lifestyle!!
I'm a newly wed, living life on the beautiful West Coast of Canada!
We have a kooky rescue dog, Lance - he's a pitbull boxer mix.
Aside from my blog - which is a hobby I love..
I have been working with kids, for the last 12 years. I have done many different things in the field and I truly love what I do.
I just graduated from college - I took Human Services - and will be working in schools as an Education Assistant - as well as doing respite care for special needs kids and adults in our home.
How Dairy Free Betty came to be;
In Sept 09, I lost my job, as a recreational youth leader. It was heartbreaking and I needed something to fill my time. Since I had recently been told that I had a dairy allergy, I thought a blog might be fun!! I love cooking and photography, so it seemed like a perfect match!!
I got HUGE inspiration from Angela at www.ohsheglows.com, she totally inspired me to start blogging, and the continued support from my readers encourages me to keep writing!!
I love having a blog, as I have made some fantastic connections with amazing people all over the globe, and it inspires me to create dairy free goodness, plus it's inspired me to become a better photographer!!
