Sunshine and a Giveaway

Well hello!!!!

If you are close to here, I hope you are enjoying this AMAZING weather!!  I love love love it!!!

I had such a great day yesterday with D’s mom!  We went shopping for our wedding ceremony that is happening in Newfoundland over Christmas! (Yes we’re doing 2 weddings!)  We both got very pretty dresses and super fun shoes!  I can’t show yet though, you must wait until Christmas!! :)

Then we met up with the boys and went out for dinner at a beautiful waterfront restaurant.  Since it was so smokin hot, we opted for the shaded spot, still with the great ocean view!  IMG_0088 D and I shared mussels that were cooked in a red curry with pineapples!!  IMG_0089 Then I had the fish tacos…  they were so good!

I was hoping they weren’t deep fried, but I just pulled off a bunch of the batter.   I need to remake this recipe – there was cabbage at the bottom, then the fish and then a sweet salsa!!

Everyone else had steak and prawns… IMG_0091 It was a very lovely meal – really a great day all around!!

  5. I would love Ani's Raw Food Kitchen!

We are going to try to do a DIY reno on our kitchen soon, and because I won't have access to my stove and possibly fridge for who knows how long... I think this cookbook could teach me a few tricks on how to make yummy food without cooking it :)

  6. Food Allergy Mama's Baking Book by Kelly Rudnicki. This book was a Godsend for my 7 year old who was diagnosed in April. I'm one of those people who love the idea of cooking, but can't! Now everything has to be homemade! (poor kid!) I got this cookbook at the Library and I can make the recipies without people gagging! So that's why I would like it!

  7. There is no specific cookbook I have been wanting, but I do want some ultimate BBQ type cookbook. As a man, the BBQ is my domain (my wife is afraid of it)

This BBQ cookbook would have to have some great steak and rib recipes - that's essential :)

  15. Awesome food! It's been HOT HOT HOT here and I'm already ready for fall :) I have a pretty good grilled fish taco recipe with cilantro/lime dressing (you could take out the yogurt and add some vinegar). If I had to choose, I've been wanting to cook up more fish lately because of all its wonderful health benefits, so I would love love love to read 'Fish Without a Doubt' or 'The Splendid Table's How to Eat Supper' because I just love Italian cuisine! Have a great weekend :)

I know this is not a cook book but I believe it will inspire someone to create a cook book of their own. Naked Chocolate: The Astounding Truth About The World's Greatest Food by David Wolfe and Shazzie (Paperback - May 2005) I would even take a used one.lol That is how much it is on my mind!
