Hey guys! Today is FH and my 2 year anniversary – I’ve had a lot of emails and messages about our story… so here it is!!
Grab a tea (or smoothie and enjoy!)
It all started one lonely night, when we both happened to be surfing a popular social networking website. I thought he looked cute in his profile picture, but his "looking for" status didn't match what I was hoping for, so I wrote him off.
Fast forward to about 2 weeks of painful awkward dates (with other people) and I was again on the website - We ended up chatting online that night with plans to meet up at Starbucks in the following days.
I arrived early to check him out as he was walking in (haha) (thanking God he wasn't wearing camo, a backwards hat or driving some "hunting truck" – which are all very typical in my little town… and not my “guy style”)
We met, and the rest of the date went off without a hitch - I'm pretty sure we talked about all the controversial topics you aren't supposed to talk about on first dates, and agreed on every subjects. We said our goodbyes and I was confident that I wouldn't hear from him again, because he seemed too good to be true!
Much to my surprise, he messaged me and we decided to go rock climbing, where he met a bunch of my friends - Who kept mentioning to me that he kept looking at me in "that way"... I still didn't think much of it, I just figured we'd end up friends... end of story.
He called me the next day asking me to plan a date - I had no idea what kind of date he meant - romantic date? friend date? activity date? Oh I stressed - and finally decided on this great restaurant for dinner - to get there you have to take a 10-15 min boat ride across the ocean to this secluded resort. (Was I planning a romantic date, but he just wanted to be friends OH NO?)
Still unsure of where this was headed, I just drank too much wine, and enjoyed the dinner and company trying not to think too much about what was to come. It was a fantastic night!
Skip a few details of me being a light weight and almost falling off the dock when getting to the boat, all while giggling like a school girl... He walked me to the door of my condo, kissed me goodnight and we have been together and happy ever since!!
If you ask anyone (especially my dad) they will tell you I was a bit of a chronic dater. I just couldn’t find anyone that made me happy, especially happy enough to spend the rest of my life with. And with FH there is no doubt for me, he is 100% the right person for me, and we’re going to have a beautiful life together!!
